Client Objective: Create a visual identity and exhibition graphics for a museum dedicated to the V8 engine era—bringing mechanical heritage into the visitor’s experience.

Overview:
The V8 Museum is designed to celebrate the legacy of the V8 engine—its innovation, power and cultural impact. The goal of the project was to craft a brand and visual environment that reflects the energy and engineering excellence of the V8 era, while making the content accessible and engaging for visitors of all ages.

Approach:
The design system emphasizes strong, bold typography reminiscent of engine labels and vintage technical diagrams. A color palette anchored in metallic neutrals (gun-metal, steel grey) is amplified by energetic accent tones (spark orange, electric blue) to convey both heritage and excitement. Graphic elements echo the mechanical world—gear shapes, piston forms, radial lines—integrated into wayfinding, signage, and exhibition panels.

Visual storytelling was placed at the heart of each display: start with the engine at rest, proceed through its components, motion and legacy. Panels were structured so that mechanical detail supports the narrative—how the V8 changed automotive design, culture and performance. Interactive touch-points invite visitors to compare engine sounds, examine period vehicles and visualise the mechanics in motion.

Results:

  • Unified identity system that spans museum exterior signage, internal graphics, print collateral and digital touchpoints.

  • Immersive exhibition graphics that guide the visitor journey—from historical context through technical breakdown to future influence.
